D-FW fitness centers raise over $47,000 for Special Olympics Texas

Orangetheory Fitness members joined Special Olympics athletes in classes July 23-24.

Orangetheory Fitness centers in North Texas raised $47,179 for Special Olympics Texas through donations during workout classes last month.

Members paid $25 to participate in classes along with Special Olympics athletes July 23 and 24. All proceeds went to Special Olympics Texas.

Orangetheory has 34 D-FW locations, including in Arlington, Irving, Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Southlake and Mansfield. More than 100 location across Texas raised over $65,000.

“Being able to have local athletes at our studios during the donation weekend made this event so much more special,” said Shane Adams, chief executive of Frisco-based Maverick Fitness, owner of the D-FW centers. “There’s no better way to promote health and wellness through community and inclusion with an event such as this.”
