Collin County Appraisal Review Board seeks new member applications

Serving on the board is a full-time commitment; this year the board has had more than 27,000 hearings.

Administrative District Judge Andrea Bouressa is accepting applications for appointment to the Collin County Appraisal Review Board for a one- or two-year term to begin Jan. 1, 2023.

The board is made of residents who determine taxpayer protests of property appraisals made by the Collin Central Appraisal District. To be considered, applicants must live in Collin County and must have lived in the county for at least the past two years.

Serving on the board requires full-time commitment during the spring and summer months. This year, the board has had more than 27,000 hearings, according to a Collin County news release.

Members are required to attend training sessions and must be available to serve every day if needed, including some Saturdays in May, June and July. Hearings are usually held one week per month throughout the year.

Compensation is $125 per half-day session and members are reimbursed for expenses incurred while working.
