Crash at McDonald’s in Lewisville kills pedestrian

The victim was identified as George Edward Stepp, 81; the driver was taken to the hospital.

An 81-year-old man was killed Saturday morning in Lewisville while leaving a McDonald’s after a driver backing out of a parking spot abruptly accelerated and hit him.

Matt Martucci, Lewisville pubic information officer, said the call came in around 9:30 a.m. for a pedestrian struck at the McDonald’s in the 700 block of Main Street.

Martucci said the victim was identified as George Edward Stepp of Flower Mound by the Tarrant County medical examiner.

Martucci said the driver was taken to a hospital. The driver’s name was not released, and Martucci said police are investigating a possible medical episode that caused the driver to accelerate quickly.
