3-year-old dies days after single-vehicle crash in Arlington that injured 2 others

Police are investigating whether the child was in a safety seat.

A 3-year-old child died about five days after a crash in Arlington hospitalized her and two adults.

Officers responded about 11:30 a.m. Sept. 12 to a single-vehicle crash in the the 300 block of North Center Street, near West Division Street, police said.

A 2006 Toyota Avalon drifted to the side of the road and hit two metal bollards and a streetlight after the driver had a medical emergency, according to a Thursday news release.

The driver, a 35-year-old man, and two passengers, the child and a 67-year-old woman, were taken to hospitals.

The girl, who has not been publicly identified, died Tuesday. No update has been provided on the adults’ conditions.

Detectives are investigating whether the girl was properly restrained in a child safety seat during the time of the crash, according to the release.
