Two people were hospitalized after being swarmed by bees in a North Richland Hills neighborhood, police said.
A news release from North Richland Hills Police said police and fire departments were called shortly after noon Tuesday to the 8000 block of Cross Drive after receiving a report that two people were being swarmed by bees. With help from local beekeepers, the fire department was able to transport the two people, a man and a woman, to the hospital, where the man was in critical condition, police said.
Police said the cause of the bee attack is unknown. The man was outside his home when the bees attacked, and the woman was swarmed when she attempted to assist the man.
Both were stung “multiple times,” police said.
Police also asked residents to avoid the area as beekeepers work to contain multiple bee hives and wasp nests in the area.
