A man died and his child is missing after being swept into a creek near Mountain Creek Lake.
Jason Evans, DFR spokesperson, said crews were called at about 1:40 p.m. Saturday after a 911 call reported someone was swept into the water near the 4500 block of Mountain Creek Parkway, Evans said.
Evans said reports indicate a child was swept into the creek while fishing, and the child’s father jumped into the creek to save them before being swept away himself.
At about 5 p.m., Evans said officials located the body of an adult male. Evans said the Dallas County medical examiner will release the individual’s identity and determine a cause of death.

Efforts to find the child were called off at about 7 p.m. due to poor light conditions, Evans said.
DFR, Dallas police and game wardens conducted the search, Evans said.
