Crews on Sunday recovered the body of a 6-year-old boy who was swept away after he fell into a creek near Mountain Creek Lake on Saturday afternoon, police say.

The child’s body was found around 2 p.m. near Mi Familia Park, located at 2402 Cardiff Street in Grand Prairie, according to a Dallas Fire-Rescue Department spokesperson.

Searchers located the boy the day after they pulled the body of his father, identified as 26-year-old Fernando Carlos, from the water.
