Collin County grand jury indicts man on capital murder charges in killings of his mother, sister

Police tracked down Burak Hezar at DFW Airport after the bodies were found in the family’s Allen home on April 24.

A Collin County grand jury this week indicted an Allen man on capital murder charges in the killings of his mother and teenage sister in April.

Burak Hezar, 21, is accused of killing Isil Borat, 51, and Burcu Hezar, 17, at the family’s home on Nueces Drive on April 24.

That morning, Borat’s husband, Ufuk Ince, arrived to the family’s home to find the door locked. He knocked until Burak Hezar opened the door, according to police. When Ince stepped into the home, he saw Hezar holding a knife, according to court documents.

Ince told authorities he thought Hezar was having an “episode,” authorities said.

After walking into the master bedroom and finding his wife on the bed with stab wounds. Ince ran to a neighbor’s home and asked them to call police. Responding officers found Burcu Hezar’s body in an upstairs bedroom.

Police said they later found Burak Hezar at DFW International Airport. From there, police said, he had planned to flee to San Francisco, where his biological father lives.

A lawyer for Burak Hezar did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Police have not provided a motive for the killings.

Hezar is in the Collin County Detention Center in lieu of $2 million bail.
