Would-be thieves shoot man leaving Everman home for work

Police said the suspects approached the victim and demanded money before shooting him.

Everman police are looking for two men who shot a resident while they were trying to rob him Monday morning.

The victim, whose name was not released, was leaving his home in the 800 block of West Barron Avenue about 5:30 a.m. when the men approached him and demanded money, Everman police Chief C.W. Spencer said in a news release.

The victim fought back, but the men shot him twice and fled in an early 2000s Chevrolet Tahoe. The men fired at the victim's car when he tried to chase them down the street.
