Fort Worth man charged with murder in death of fellow Ole Miss student

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, 22-year-old Brandon Theesfeld was arrested Monday afternoon.

A Fort Worth man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of University of Mississippi student Alexandria "Ally" Kostial, authorities confirmed Tuesday.

According to the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department, 22-year-old Brandon Theesfeld was arrested Monday afternoon. He was arraigned on the murder charge Tuesday morning.

Kostial's body was found by a patrol officer Saturday morning near a lake in Harmontown, Miss., about 20 miles from Ole Miss' campus in Oxford.

Officials have not released a motive or details about how Kostial died, but WLTB-TV reported she had been shot multiple times.

According to the university, Kostial and Theesfeld were students in the School of Business Administration. The university also confirmed that Theesfeld has been suspended.

In a Facebook post, Keith Kostial said his daughter was attending summer classes and teaching fitness classes at Ole Miss.

Theesfeld's Facebook page identifies him as a former student at Fort Worth Country Day. A school spokeswoman said he attended from 2012 to 2014 before leaving for academic reasons.

He then attended San Marcos Academy, a boarding school in San Marcos, where he graduated in 2016, the school confirmed.

Theesfeld, who has no apparent previous criminal history, remained in custody at the Lafayette County jail. His bail has not been set.
