Man fatally shot in Red Bird after he intervened in argument, Dallas police say

The victim died at a hospital after officers found him in a shopping center in Red Bird, police said.

A man was fatally shot Saturday in Red Bird after intervening in an argument, Dallas police say.

Officers were called about 5:45 p.m. to a shopping center in the 4200 block of West Camp Wisdom Road, near Interstate 20 and South Cockrell Hill Road, where they found the wounded man. The victim, Andre Menefee, 29, died at a hospital.

Witnesses told police he had intervened in an argument between two people and one of them shot him. Police did not provide a detailed description of the gunman, who fled the scene.
