Kenvairiay Javera Smith was booked into the Dallas County jail Monday afternoon on a murder charge.

Police said Smith admitted to shooting Theron Crawford, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds June 1 in the 5200 block of Colonial Avenue. Crawford died at a hospital.

Smith’s bail has not yet been set, and he does not have an attorney listed in court records.

He also faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of firearm theft; it was unclear whether those charges were related to the same incident.
