Three people have been arrested after a man’s body was found in a pickup set ablaze in South Dallas last week.
Edgar Mireles, 39, and Hector Abraham Piña, 33, each face a murder charge in the death of 35-year-old Teodoro Mena Jr. Mireles also faces a charge of arson, as does 26-year-old Adriana Christine Alvarado, whose last name is listed as Tijarena in court records.
Firefighters were called about 8 a.m. Nov. 11 to the 4800 block of Huey Street, near Elsie Faye Heggins Street, where a white Ford pickup was on fire. They found Mena’s body in the bed of the pickup after putting out the fire.
Police did not say how they connected the three suspects to the case.
Mireles, who also faces gun and drug charges, was booked into the Dallas County jail early Saturday, where he remains in custody in lieu of $715,000 bail.
Piña, who also faces a drug charge, was booked into the jail Saturday and remains in custody. His bail is set at $160,000, and he also is being held on a federal immigration detainer.
Alvarado also was booked into the jail Saturday and remains in custody, with bail set at $100,000.
A lawyer representing Piña declined to comment on the case until she had more information about the investigation. Attorneys for Alvarado and Mireles did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
