Man sexually assaulted woman at gunpoint after asking for change, Haltom City police say

The attack occurred early Tuesday in the 3900 block of Broadway Avenue, and authorities are searching for leads.

Haltom City police are looking for the man they say sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint early Tuesday.

Police said the woman was in the 3900 block of Broadway Avenue, near North Beach Street, about 3 a.m. Tuesday when a man asked her for change. He then pulled out a black handgun and forced her to a nearby field, where he sexually assaulted her.

Police described the assailant as a Black man about 35 to 40 years old who is 6 feet tall, with a thin or medium build, clean-shaven with short black hair, possibly a fade. He was wearing a white or yellow T-shirt, and he was last seen going south on Beach Street.

Police released a sketch of the assailant Thursday, along with images of a vehicle of interest.
