5 people wounded in 2 separate shootings in Fort Worth, police say

None of the injuries was believed to be life-threatening

Five people were hospitalized overnight after two separate shootings early Saturday in Fort Worth, police say.

Officers responded to the first incident about 3:40 a.m. in the 4200 block of Miller Avenue, near U.S. Highway 287 and Wilbarger Street.

Investigators said a “crowd of vehicles” had gathered in a parking lot there, but they did not provice information about what led to the shooting. Police spokesman Officer Buddy Calzada said it was not believed to be a road-rage incident.

Officers did not find anyone who had been wounded in the vicinity, but shortly before 4:15 a.m. three people went to a nearby medical facility with gunshot injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.

In the second shooting, officers were called after gunfire broke out about 4:30 a.m. during a large fight in the 5600 block of Meadowbrook Drive, near East Loop 820 and East Lancaster Avenue.

Two people there were taken to a hospital with wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening.
