2nd victim dies after shooting during apparent robbery near Dallas shopping center

Police have not made any arrests in connection with the fatal Oct. 12 shooting.

An 18-year-old woman has died after being shot last week during an apparent robbery in a Dallas shopping center’s parking lot.

Officers found Ruby Gonzalez and Juan Carlos Sierra Garcia Jr., 19, with gunshot wounds the night of Oct. 12 in the 4400 block of Dallas Fort Worth Turnpike, near North Cockrell Hill Road in west Oak Cliff.

Sierra died at a hospital a short time later, according to police, and Gonzalez was hospitalized in critical condition. Police said Tuesday that she had died, and the Dallas County medical examiner’s office confirmed her identity.

No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Police believe multiple assailants were involved.
