Officers learned that a woman was in a motel room with her son when she heard a knock at the door. Thinking it was a friend, she opened the door and was overpowered by three women who took her son, police said.

Surveillance footage released by Garland police shows three women arriving at the back of the motel in a black SUV shortly after midnight. The women are seen waiting until someone opens the door.

About five minutes later, the women run out of the motel and get into the SUV. One of the women is carrying the boy, who is wearing only a diaper.

The mother chases after the women and removes the SUV’s front license plate before it backs out of the parking spot and drives off. Authorities were able to identify the vehicle from the license plate, police said.

A Garland officer later located the SUV on Northwest Highway near LBJ Freeway in Dallas. Officers conducted a traffic stop and found that the car was occupied by a female driver, an 11-year-old and the kidnapped boy.

The boy was unharmed and was returned to his mother, police said.

Police identified the SUV’s driver as Price, of Seagoville, and said she was involved in the abduction. She was arrested on a kidnapping charge and was booked into the Dallas County jail Tuesday, with bail set at $20,000.

Investigators later identified the other two women as Brown, a Glenn Heights resident, and Williams, a Richardson resident.

Brown, 28, turned herself in to Garland Detention Center about 8 p.m. Wednesday, police said. Williams, 41, was found Thursday morning at a motel in the 3600 block of Leon Road and taken to the Garland Detention Center. Bond has not been set for Brown or Williams.

Police said they believe that the suspects knew the mother. The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released a motive.
