Teen found dead near Mountain Creek Lake alerted neighbors she was being threatened, affidavit says

Tyrone Davis faces a murder charge in the slaying of 14-year-old Nevaeh Foster.

The 14-year-old girl found fatally shot last week near Mountain Creek Lake had alerted multiple neighbors a man was chasing her with a gun the night she died, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit.

Tyrone Davis, 22, has been arrested on a murder charge in the death of Nevaeh Foster. He was in the Dallas County jail in lieu of $1 million bail.

Officers were called about 3:30 a.m. Dec. 14 to the 2000 block of Merrifield Road, just east of the lake and north of Mountain Creek Parkway, where they found Nevaeh on the side of a street with multiple gunshot wounds.

Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced her dead at the scene. While searching the area, police said they also found discarded condoms. It is unclear if Nevaeh was sexually assaulted, though the affidavit states Davis had previously told someone he wanted to assault her. Davis’ attorney couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.

The night before Nevaeh was found in the street, a witness said Nevaeh visited Davis at his apartment complex in the 5800 block of Mountain Valley Lane, near South Walton Walker Boulevard.

According to the affidavit, the witness told police Nevaeh left the apartment in a car with Davis who had a gun. Nevaeh had also filed a police report Dec. 10 stating Davis pointed a gun at her, the affidavit says.
