Mesquite police are sending a message this Independence Day weekend: if you drive drunk, you’re going to jail.
Ahead of July 4th, the department is increasing DWI patrols as part of a Texas Department of Transportation campaign to identify and prevent drunk driving.
“Drunk driving crashes are 100 percent preventable,” the department wrote in a social media post.
“Choosing to find a sober ride home as part of their holiday weekend ensures drivers won’t do something they will regret the next day.”
