Man stabbed at Garland DART station in critical condition

Police say the stabbing occurred at the Park and Ride transit center in the 500 block of North Fourth Street.

A 36-year-old man is in critical condition after he was stabbed at a DART station in Garland early Thursday.

Police were called about 4:45 a.m. to the Downtown Garland station in the 500 block of North Fourth Street, near West Walnut Street, after a stabbing was reported. The man, whose name was not released, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and will be conducted by both Garland and Dallas Area Rapid Transit police.

No additional information was immediately available.

From January to April this year — the latest data available — 355 criminal offenses have been reported and 231 arrests have been made at DART rail stations and transit facilities. Four offenses and one arrest were at the Downtown Garland station, according to DART’s data.
