Mansfield man charged in crash that killed 2 year old, injured others on Highway 121

The man is awaiting a bond hearing.

A toddler was killed and a driver was arrested Saturday in a crash that shut down State Highway 121 for hours, a Bedford spokesperson said.

Joshua Hagger, 36, of Mansfield was arraigned and charged with manslaughter in the fatal crash, according to a Bedford Police Department news release.

Officers received a call about the crash about 2:30 p.m.

Hagger was driving a Dodge Ram pickup and crashed into the rear passenger side of a silver sedan, Bedford director of communications Molly Fox said Saturday. That’s where the 2-year-old girl was in her car seat. Other passengers in the sedan were also injured, according to police.

Hagger, who was arrested at the scene, is being held at the Euless City Jail. His bond will be set after he is transferred to the Tarrant County Jail. It is unclear if he has an attorney.

The investigation is ongoing and additional criminal charges may follow.
