Man arrested after chase in Fort Worth following fatal shooting, police say

The shooting occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 1500 block of East Robert Street, according to police.

A man accused of being involved in a fatal shooting in Fort Worth was arrested Wednesday evening after he led officers on a chase, police said.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of East Robert Street in response to a shooting, according to police. Officers found two people with gunshot wounds in a nearby field.

One of the victims died from their injuries, and the second victim was in surgery, police said. Authorities did not release their identities.

Officers later found the vehicle believed to have been used in the shooting on the east side of the city and began pursuing it, police said.

The chase ended about 7 p.m., the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported. The suspect, whose name was not released, was arrested on an evading arrest charge, according to police.
