Authorities identify man found fatally shot in car in Old East Dallas

The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as 24-year-old Jorge Martinez Lorenzo.

A man found fatally shot in a car in Old East Dallas early Thursday has been identified.

The Dallas County medical examiner’s office identified the man as 24-year-old Jorge Martinez Lorenzo.

About 12:15 a.m., police said officers who were on patrol in the 5500 block of Tenison Parkway, near Samuell Grand Park, noticed a car with multiple bullet holes.

A man was found in the driver’s seat with a gunshot wound, according to police. Dallas Fire-Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

“He was the best son in the world, loving and close to his family,” his obituary says.
