Man killed, another injured in Garland shooting, police say

The investigation began after a car that crashed into a building and caught fire was found to have had two victims with gunshot wounds inside.

Garland police are investigating a homicide after a car that crashed into a building and caught fire was found to have two victims with gunshot wounds inside.

About 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police responded to an apartment building in the 4600 block of Saturn Road and found the crash. The flames from the burning car were beginning to spread to the apartments, police said.

Firefighters responded and found the two victims in the car. Both were taken to a hospital. Quincy Lee Branch, 22, of Dallas was pronounced dead. The other victim, a 19-year-old Fort Worth man, is expected to survive.
