Woman arrested on intoxication manslaughter charge in fatal I-30 collision

Search for tow-truck driver involved in crash on Saturday continues

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for the tow-truck driver involved in a fatal multivehicle crash Saturday — even after another motorist was already arrested.

The initial collision was caused by a red tow truck hitting a minivan on Interstate 30 near 2nd Avenue, according to a news release Monday from the sheriff’s office. The van, a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country, spun into oncoming traffic, the sheriff’s office said, and the tow truck fled the scene.

An individual stopped to help, but he was struck when a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe collided with him and the wrecked van, the release states. Donald Collins, 25, was pronounced dead at a hospital. An unidentified passenger in the van was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
