2nd suspect identified in Irving fatal shooting; police believe suspects fled to Honduras

Police officials said two brothers are accused in the fatal April 7 shooting.

Irving police identified a second suspect Wednesday in connection with a fatal shooting this month, and officials believe both men involved have fled the country.

Police officials said a warrant has been issued for Franklin Amador, 18, in connection with the fatal April 7 shooting of a 24-year-old man. According to a news release from the department, Franklin Amador is the brother of the other man accused in the shooting, 32-year-old Erik Natanael Amador Godoy.

Officials believe the brothers are still together and have fled to Honduras, the release said.

On April 7, officers responded shortly before 11 a.m. to the 200 block of Ouida Street for a disturbance. When they arrived, they found Abel Alvarado Martinez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and attempted to perform life-saving measures, police officials said.

Amador Godoy was last seen driving a gray Toyota Corolla, which was later recovered in San Antonio, officials wrote in the release.

At the time, officials said a suspect fled the area prior to officers arriving and was not located. Irving Fire Department medics responded and pronounced Alvarado Martinez dead.
