One man is dead and another is behind bars after an “altercation between neighbors” in North Richland Hills, police said.
At about 3 p.m. May 26, authorities were notified of a shooting in the 7500 block of Windhaven Road, police said in a news release. In front of a home in the area, officers found a 48-year-old man who had been shot, police said.
Emergency crews took the man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified him as William Edward Platt Jr.
Police said a neighbor of the victim was arrested near the same location. He was identified in court documents as 62-year-old Alan Pattee.

Pattee faces a murder charge. He remained in custody at the Tarrant County jail on a $1 million bond as of Monday, jail records show.
The investigation is ongoing.
