Teen arrested in 2 fatal shootings in Pleasant Grove, Dallas police say

17-year-old is facing murder charges in connection with shootings in December and May, authorities say.

A teenager facing murder charges in two fatal shootings in Pleasant Grove was arrested Monday, according to Dallas police.

Police identified 17-year-old Pablo Veliz last week and said he was wanted in connection with shootings in May and December, a report from KTVT-TV (Channel 11) shows. It is unclear if he has an attorney.

Veliz was 16 at the time of the shootings, which happened within a few miles of each other. While police don’t typically name juvenile suspects, a judge granted an exception, the report said. On Tuesday, police said that because he was a juvenile, they would not be identifying the 17-year-old arrested in the shootings.

Police said that on May 2, a group was fighting when someone opened fire and struck three people near the intersection of North Masters Drive and Carolina Oaks Drive. Isaac Aguirre, 16, was killed.
