Man found shot dead outside home in southern Fort Worth, police say

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 4400 block of Chesapeake Bay Drive.

A man was found fatally shot in southern Fort Worth on Friday afternoon, police say.

Officers responding just before 2:30 p.m. to a shooting call in the 4400 block of Chesapeake Bay Drive, near South Hulen Street, found a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body in the front yard of a home, police said.

Investigators found that someone drove up to the home and fired multiple shots at the man before fleeing in a vehicle. Police described the shooter as “unknown” and did not release any additional information.

Emergency medical personnel tried lifesaving measures on the victim, but he was pronounced dead, according to police. His identity had not been released Friday afternoon and the Tarrant County medical examiner will decide the cause and manner of his death, police said.
