Denton police investigating 20-year-old’s death as a homicide

Police said the person was found unresponsive in a house Tuesday night; details sparse Wednesday.

Denton police are investigating a homicide after a person was found unresponsive in a home Tuesday night and later died.

According to a Wednesday police news release, officers were dispatched about 11:10 p.m. Tuesday to a report of an unconscious person in a home in the 3700 block of Holland Lane. The person was found with traumatic injuries and taken to the hospital, where the person was pronounced dead, police said.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office later identified the victim as Dylan Wayne Gurley, a 20-year-old male from Little Elm.

Police did not say if a suspect had been identified or arrested. Denton police asked anyone with information to contact detective Jasmine Badiru at 940-349-7977 or submit an anonymous tip through Denton County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-388-TIPS (8477).
