Driver arrested, accused of leaving Fort Worth crash after person ejected from vehicle

The crash occurred Saturday on Jacksboro Highway

One person is dead and another is jailed after a two-vehicle crash Saturday night in northwest Fort Worth.

Officers responded shortly after 9:20 p.m. to a major accident in the 2100 block of Jacksboro Highway and investigators determined a vehicle had collided with the victim’s vehicle, causing the victim to be ejected, according to police. The driver of the other vehicle left the scene on foot before officers arrived.

The victim was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

The victim’s identity has not been made public, pending notification of next of kin. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office will determine the person’s manner and cause of death.

Jose Ramirez Olmedo, 25, was arrested Sunday and faces one charge of accident involving death, according to jail records. He was being held at the Tarrant County jail on a $20,000 bail; it was unclear whether he had an attorney.
