The youth director at a Denton church was arrested Tuesday and faces charges of possession of child pornography and indecency with a child by contact.
Craig Stone, 63, was booked into the Denton jail and remained in custody as of Wednesday afternoon on a $20,000 bail, records show. It was unclear whether he had an attorney.
Denton police said Stone worked at a church in the 1500 block of Willowwood Street. He is listed in an online directory as a member of the Willowwood Church of the Nazarene.
Late last month, a parent and their child reported Stone was “engaging in inappropriate behavior with teenagers,” police said. Additional teenagers told detectives Stone may have sexual images of children on his computer and one teen said Stone had inappropriately touched him.
Detectives searched the church and Stone’s home Tuesday and Stone told police he touched the victim and had naked images of a second victim, according to the police news release.
The investigation is ongoing.
