Police: ‘High-risk drug activity’ may have led to triple shooting at Arlington apartment

No arrests made in connection with the shooting that hospitalized a teen and two men.

Police are investigating a shooting Sunday evening at an Arlington apartment complex that left three young people hospitalized, authorities said.

Officers responded shortly before 8 p.m. to the 2200 block of Lincoln Drive, near Washington Drive, for a report of gunfire.

Upon arrival, they found the 17-year-old girl in a vacant apartment, a 19-year-old man in a neighboring apartment and another 19-year-old man in a vehicle parked outside the building where the two other victims were, police said.

The victims were taken to hospitals, where the girl and man who was in the vehicle were listed in critical condition, according to a Monday news release. The third victim’s injuries were not life threatening.

Police said the two victims found inside apartments are related but did not elaborate, and they are not sure how the man in the vehicle is connected to the other victims.

No arrests have been made in the shooting as of Monday morning but detectives believe “high-risk drug activity may be involved,” according to the release.
