Affidavit: 4 men forced woman into home at gunpoint, bound and robbed her near Love Field

Suspects took cash, phone, Gucci purse and $75,000 worth of jewelry, police said.

Four men forced a woman into her home at gunpoint, beat her with a pistol, tied her up and robbed her last month, according to a Dallas police arrest-warrant affidavit.

According to the affidavit, at about 9:20 p.m. Sept. 21, a woman had just pulled into the garage of her home in the 4800 block of Elsby Avenue when four men walked through her open garage door and one pulled a gun on her. The men forced her to the ground and demanded to know where her safe was, the affidavit said.

When the woman told them she didn’t have a safe, the man with the handgun hit her with it and demanded money before taking her purse and iPhone. The men then forced the woman into her home as they tied her up and ransacked her home looking for a safe, the affidavit said.

The affidavit also said the four men communicated in Spanish over the phone with someone believed to be their “boss” and asked the person for directions, police wrote in the affidavit. The thieves communicated with the woman using Google Translate and threatened to cut off her fingers with a knife if she did not tell them the location of a safe, the affidavit said.

According to a police report, the four men stole cash, an iPhone, a Gucci purse and $75,000 worth of jewelry from the woman. The men then left the home and after about ten minutes, the woman was able to free herself and run to her neighbors, who then called 911.

Responding officers then canvassed the home for fingerprints. A few days after the robbery, police matched one of the prints to Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez, 28, who had been arrested Sept. 19 in Colleyville and released the following day, the affidavit said. According to NBC5, he faced traffic violation charges.
