19-year-old arrested in shooting near Fort Worth Stockyards that left 1 dead, several hurt

Officers were called about 3 a.m. Sunday to the 100 block of Northwest 24th Street.

A 19-year-old was arrested after a shooting early Sunday near the Fort Worth Stockyards left one person dead and several others injured, authorities said.

Kevin Aguilar faces a murder charge in the shooting, according to Fort Worth jail records. He was booked into the city jail shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Officers were called about 3 a.m. to the 100 block of Northwest 24th Street, off North Main Street, for a report of gunfire, police said in a written statement.

When they arrived, officers found multiple victims, including one person who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The man who died was identified as 18-year-old Joseph Padilla, according to Tarrant County medical examiner records.

Three other victims were taken to hospitals, including one in critical condition, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. A fourth victim was brought to the hospital in a private vehicle.

Some details in the case were not immediately clear, including a motive or whether additional arrests were expected.
