9 students facing charges after alleged hazing incidents at Collin County high school

Police have identified at least three victims.

Nine Farmersville High School students are facing charges tied to alleged hazing incidents, officials said.

Farmersville ISD police were notified Sept. 26 of the incidents and one student was taken into custody the same day, police Chief Steve Wade told WFAA-TV (Channel 8). Charges were brought against the other eight students on Tuesday.

Wade said there were at least three victims, all of who are student athletes, and the alleged hazing occurred in a locker room, the TV station reported.

The police department is notifying the students’ parents, a Thursday news release from Farmersville ISD said, and all evidence will be submitted to the Collin County district attorney’s office.

Separate from criminal charges, the students will also face disciplinary actions through the school. The discipline will be individualized based on the seriousness of the offense, each student’s prior disciplinary record, statutory requirements and any relevant disabilities, according to the release.

“We continue to prioritize the safety and well-being of all our students as we move forward in addressing this matter,” the release said.
