5 dead, 1 injured in wrong-way crash on Loop 820 in Fort Worth, police say

The crash occurred about 3:30 a.m.

Five people died and one was hospitalized after a crash early Sunday on an interstate in Fort Worth, officials said.

Officers responded to a major crash involving two vehicles shortly after 3:30 a.m. in the 3000 block of Northwest Loop 820 near Marine Creek Parkway.

Investigators believe one vehicle was traveling in the wrong direction when it collided with another vehicle, causing a fire and people to become entrapped, Fort Worth police said in a news release.

Five people were pronounced dead at the scene and one person was taken to the hospital.
