Police ask for public’s help searching for 46-year-old Wylie woman last seen Sunday night

A Clear Alert was issued Wednesday for Melonie Ballenger.

The investigation into a Wylie woman’s weekend disappearance continued Thursday.

Melonie Ballenger, 46, was reported missing Monday morning by her husband. He told police she was last seen at 10 p.m. Sunday at their home in the 100 block of Parkwood Drive, according to a news release.

Ballenger didn’t take a vehicle or her phone when she left, police said.

Officers, K9s and a helicopter were used in an hourslong search Monday but Ballenger was not found. Additional searches were conducted the following days and a Clear Alert advisory was issued Wednesday night saying Ballenger was possibly endangered.

Wylie police asked residents in the area to review their outdoor camera footage between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. Monday to check for any video of Ballenger.

She is described as 5-foot-7 white woman and weighing 135 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
