NEWARK -- The Wise County Sheriff’s office and Texas Rangers are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found along with a third injured person during a welfare check Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The injured person was rushed to a local hospital but information about their condition was not immediately disclosed. Identities for the three people were pending.
According to a written statement from the sheriff’s office, deputies were called to a home in the 200 block of County Road 4874 in Newark, which is north of Eagle Mountain Lake, around 12:15 p.m. by a caller who said they had been unable to reach one of the residents.
No one answered the door before deputies entered the residence where they found the three.
Investigators did not say how the pair died, how the third person was hurt or what the relationship was between the trio. Deputies did say, however, that there is no threat to the public at large.
