How Texas schools graded, A-F

See the scores each school received in the state’s new campus-level accountability system

    Texas expanded on the A-F academic accountability system it released in 2018 when it handed out official grades for school campuses for the first time in July.

    While the system only measured the performance of school districts in its first year, the state added more than 8,800 campuses to the accountability report for 2019. Nearly 20% of those campuses earned an A and 37% earned a B. Only 4.5% received an F, according to preliminary ratings.

    Along with an overall score, schools were also graded on a number of other metrics outlined by the Texas Education Agency, including:

    Percentage of 2018 graduates who earned college credit, an associate degree, industry certification or enlisted in the military. College credit requires at least three hours of credit in English, Language Arts or Math, or nine hours in any other subjects.
