An employee at Goodman Elementary School accused of tying up students with string and putting tape over their mouths last week is on administrative leave, according to an Arlington ISD statement.
The district was alerted to the allegations Friday, immediately prompting an investigation, and the employee was placed on administrative leave. The parents of involved students were notified the same day, according to the district.

“We appreciate the understanding and patience of our school community and encourage any students or parents with concerns to contact the school administration,” the district said in the statement.

Officials did not say what the employee’s role at the school is or how many students were involved. An AISD spokesperson said the district cannot provide any additional details, citing the ongoing investigation.

Arlington police said in a statement Tuesday evening that officers determined no criminal offense occurred. The department reviewed information and evidence and concluded no children were injured and their movements and breathing were never restricted, according to the statement.
The department declined to provide additional details, citing the incident involving juveniles.

“Arlington ISD will handle the matter internally per their policies and procedures,” the statement said.
