Ruptured water line at TCU dorm leads to evacuation of residential building, officials say

University workers, contract staff responded to water emergency.

FORT WORTH -- Several Texas Christian University students who reside in the school’s Colby Hall dormitory were forced out of the building after a water line ruptured Monday afternoon, flooding the residential building, authorities said.

According to TCU spokesperson Tammy Evans-Mitchell, a chilled water line in the building’s attic was severed, which sent several gallons of water pouring into the dorm.

She said university staff workers were called to repair the pipe along with additional contract employees called in to assist.
