Polls open at 7 a.m. today. Here’s what Dallas voters need to know

$1.25 billion bond program at the top of the ballot in the city of Dallas.

Today is election day and voters across North Texas will cast ballots to approve or deny spending projects, changes to their charters and elect local officials.

Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. and voters can find their polling stations at here. The Dallas Morning News will post results at dallasnews.com/election-results.

City of Dallas voters have a $1.25 billion bond package to consider. Voters will decide if the city should borrow money to finance infrastructure projects included in 10 different propositions over the next five years.

Funds will go towards new road improvements, building repairs, parks spaces and storm drainage controls, among other needs. This is the fourth bond package in two decades. Dallas took on debt worth $1.35 billion in 2006, $642 million in 2012 and $1.05 billion in 2017 to pay for capital improvements.
