Senior pastor at Fort Worth-area church was removed, his lawyer confirms

An attorney for Scott Crenshaw said he will soon be sending a demand letter to his former church.

The senior pastor at another Dallas-Fort Worth church was removed from his position, his lawyer confirmed Tuesday.

Scott Crenshaw served as interim pastor at Lake Country Church in Saginaw starting in 2018, according to its website, and became senior pastor in 2020.

Lake Country Church declined to comment Wednesday, and the pastor’s lawyer decline to elaborate on the allegations.

“He has been discharged because of extreme false rumors and false information that was given to the elders of this church, who did not engage in any investigation at all,” Crenshaw’s lawyer, Mark Lane, said in an interview.

Lane said he plans to send the church a letter in the next few business days demanding they pay damages to Crenshaw and publicly apologize to him.

“This is not like the other recent firings in the metroplex of pastors. This is absolutely, unequivocally, without any basis in fact these allegations against Mr. Crenshaw,” Lane said.

Lake Country Church was started in 1975 under a different name and changed its affiliation from Baptist to non-denominational in 1996, according to the church website.
