Collin County’s COVID-19 updates and what you need to know in Allen

Allen’s COVID-19 dashboard no longer shows any city-level data, or active and recovered cases at the county level.

COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are on the decline in Collin County.

The arrival of the omicron variant in North Texas in December led to a massive rise in Allen’s active cases. From Dec. 9 to Jan. 13, Allen’s active cases spiked from 101 to 838; an increase of about 729%. According to state data, Collin County has had 156,926 cases of COVID-19, an increase of 517 since last week.

City-level information is no longer available because of a switch in the city’s data source.

As of March 17, COVID-19 patients occupy about 2.66% of the county’s hospital beds.

Allen ISD does not have a mask mandate, nor does it offer virtual learning options for academic courses. Allen ISD parents have taken the district to court over its lack of a mask mandate.

Currently, all city facilities are open with the exception of the Allen Chemical Reuse Center.
