I want an antibody test

Health experts and public officials have said antibody testing is a key part in learning how widespread the coronavirus outbreak is.

The tests analyze blood samples to see whether antibodies for the coronavirus are in someone’s blood. The presence of coronavirus antibodies indicates the person has been infected with the disease and has recovered.

But there are limits to the information an antibody test can provide. For example, not much is known about the length or effectiveness of immunity. And there are significant questions about the accuracy of antibody tests — the CDC previously said that the tests are wrong as much as half the time.
