Residents should remain inside during the time sprayers are in the area.

Targeted ground spraying is scheduled tonight in DeSoto after mosquito samples in the 75115 ZIP code tested positive for West Nile Virus, Dallas County Health and Human Services said in a news release.

In response to the positive tests, Dallas County mosquito abatement teams are set to spray from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, weather permitting. A round of spraying was scheduled Thursday, Oct. 14.

Residents are asked to remain inside when spraying is taking place. Spraying will not be conducted in the event of wind speeds more than 10 mph or inclement weather.
