Fort Worth PD corporal jailed, accused of threatening household member, police say

The corporal has been “stripped of all police powers” as the investigations move forward, police said.

A Fort Worth police officer accused of making threats was jailed Tuesday.

Cpl. Brandon Parker, 42, turned himself in to Tarrant County authorities Tuesday afternoon on a warrant charging him with making a terroristic threat to a household member, police said Thursday in a news release.

Court records did not list an attorney for Parker as of Thursday afternoon.

Police did not immediately return a phone call or respond to a list of emailed questions seeking more information about Parker’s arrest.

The department’s internal affairs unit began an investigation after learning of the arrest, the release stated. Administrative and criminal investigations are being conducted concurrently. Police said they expect to complete a “thorough investigation to collect and review the facts and the circumstances of these allegations,” according to the release.

Parker, who was assigned to the department’s patrol bureau, has been placed on “restricted duty and stripped of all police powers” pending the outcome of the investigations, the release stated. He has been with the FWPD for seven years.
