5-year-old boy airlifted to Dallas hospital after boat explosion in Oklahoma

Officials say a spark ignited gasoline fumes after the boaters got fuel.

A 5-year-old boy was injured after a boat exploded on Lake Texoma.

He was flown 100 miles to the Parkland Burn Center in Dallas mid-afternoon on Sunday, the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety told WFAA-TV (Channel 8).

A 51-year-old woman and a 25-year-old woman were also on board at the time of the explosion, which occurred after they finished fueling at Bridgeview Marina in Madill, Oklahoma, Oklahoma DPS said. After starting the boat, a spark ignited gasoline fumes, causing the blast.
