Four-vehicle crash leaves two dead in Grapevine

A multi-vehicle crash left two people dead in Grapevine Friday evening, according to Grapevine police.

A four-car pileup left two people dead in Grapevine on Friday evening, police said.

Patricia Nealy, 65, and Craig Nealy, 62, of Odessa were killed when the vehicle they were passengers in was rear-ended at a stoplight on a service road of State Highway 114, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 7 p.m. when a gray Hyundai Elantra crashed into the back of a black Mazda 3 that was stopped at a traffic light.

Both Craig and Patricia Nealy had to be extracted from the Mazda by Grapevine firefighters. They were rushed to Baylor University Medical Center Grapevine where they died.

Both drivers were also taken to the hospital, though their injuries were not considered life-threatening, police said.

Witnesses told police that the Elantra was traveling at a high rate of speed when it hit the Mazda. Two other vehicles were involved in the crash, but nobody else was injured.

Police say they are investigating the crash, and no charges have been filed at this time.
