Grand Prairie seeking input on Pioneer Parkway design

The city is putting together a plan to guide development along the roadway.

Grand Prairie is seeking input about the design of one of its most-trafficked east-west corridors: Pioneer Parkway.

The city is asking residents to respond to a survey this month that will help to develop the Urban Design Strategy Plan for Pioneer Parkway (also known as Texas State Highway Spur 303). The plan will eventually inform development along the corridor, according to the city.

The planning process will help to offer recommendations on physical improvements, design recommendations and programming to promote new activity “while respecting and championing the unique cultural aspects already found along this busy arterial,” according to the city.

The public can participate by taking a visual preference survey. A virtual public design workshop will also be held on Jan. 14 to gather additional input from the public. A specific time for the workshop has not yet been specified.
